I stayed at the wellington and have dinner in the pub. The stay was decent value, room is spacious enough although the check in is a bit odd as it is in an area where people are dining. In terms of the pub, the service was fine and polite, you order at the bar as usual. The food was exceptional, I had the pork special and it is probably the best pub food I've ever had. Sauce, parsnip and pork were balanced very well. Only thing to improve it was to make the skin a bit crispy, but it really didn't matter.
We went for the Sunday roast. The food was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect. Our server Emma was lovely and had really nice makeup :) Can’t wait to come back
We had a fantastic stay at The Wellington. We had dinner at the pub and the food was out of this world. The rooms are huge, lovely facilities and very comfortable beds. We had breakfast the morning of check out too which was also very good. The staff were all so lovely, polite and friendly. Would recommend The Wellington in a heartbeat!
For £119 a night including breakfast, it was very disappointing. On arrival I was informed that Monday was "student night" although I didn't think much of it until I tried to get to sleep. Thumping music and shouting till gone midnight. Breakfast was OK although no cereals, fruit, yoghurt or toast etc on offer. Only a choice of mainly cooked offerings from the menu. Vegan cooked breakfast was good although on my second day, there were no hash browns and other options on the menu, pancakes, "Turkish" eggs were also unavailable. Not worth the money. Plenty of better options in nearby cafes. On the positive side the room was good but no wardrobe, only coat hangars available to hang on pegs. In summary, over priced, for £119 a night, I expected much better. **Update, I have since been contacted by the management and received an apology and an offer of a partial refund for inconvenience caused, which was much appreciated. **
My friend and I stayed at The Wellington for a cheeky reunion weekend together. Our room was super comfy, and it was so easy to travel into Bristol City Centre. What really made it for us, was the staff. Everyone we met welcomed us, showed us genuine kindness and great customer service. We'd definitely return. Thank you to The Wellington for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend!
